“How the ‘Green Dragon’ targets developing nations”: Environmentalism is destroying the lives, the hopes, the dreams and the futures of many people who are already poor and vulnerable in developing nations. Aggressive ideologues are putting oppressive demands on development in Third World countries, including “green energy” requirements. These poor countries cannot afford these measures. Money is being misdirected into the pockets of greedy and irresponsible “First Worlders” – bureaucrats, non-profits and businessmen – at the expense of food and shelter and other basics for suffering people. This environmentalist agenda can only be implemented through massive state subsidies. This fuels ongoing, chronic dependency at the individual level as well as at the political level. Environmentalism is a threat to the health and security of impoverished people around the world and courageous Christians need to stand in the gap, draw a line in the sand and offer a fresh vision of justice and liberty for these victimized peoples. The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation is one of those organizations that is standing in the gap. We will be using their “Resisting the Green Dragon” material to shed light on Environmentalism’s assault against the poor and impoverished around the world.
“Frozen Tears: The terror of her Arab-Muslim husband”: This is a horrendous first-hand account of domestic violence at the hands of an Arab-Muslim husband. Arab-Muslim husbands and fathers beat their wives and children for their own good, or so they say. That’s what they are taught, reports this victim. He was Muslim and she was Orthodox. That compounded the problems, especially because he remained a “Mummy’s boy” who never learned how to “leave and cleave.” Assault. Psychological terrorism. Abortion. Intimidation. Sexual assault. He brutally attacked their children as well as his wife. This violence followed her to Canada. It was not limited to their experience in the Middle East. How many more families are there like this in Canada. You will also get a window into the Muslim mind and their hatred for the West, if not in her talk, then in her autobiography which we look forward to releasing on the day of the conference. She watched with her own eyes, and heard with her own ears, the relish of Middle Eastern Muslims over the 9/11 bombing of New York’s Twin Towers. And you dare not speak publicly if you held a competing view, as she did. It takes courage for a victim of this kind of violence to speak out so openly to warn others, to plead with young women to avoid making the same mistake she did.
“Restitution Restores”: What does true justice look like for victims of crime? How do you treat offenders like human beings who can become productive members of society? Only Biblical truth gets you there with genuine restitution for non-capital crimes, by treating crime as an offence against a person rather than against the state, by addressing crime within communities rather than from a centralized bureaucratic desk, surrounded by stale air and artificial light! Biblical law is the solution. That is where justice and mercy meet – in terms of both means and ends. Today’s conservative and leftist notions for crime control and criminal justice are failures on numerous levels. Pursuing a Biblical vision for criminal justice takes courage. There are many vested interests around this emotionally charged issue but human dignity, government budgets and God’s glory call Christians of courage to challenge the bankrupt religious edifices of our day and to pursue a vision of true justice and hope in this area of criminal justice.
“Nefarious: Merchant of Souls”: Slavery is thriving around the world. One of the most gruesome forms of modern slavery involves sexual trafficking, kidnapping and prostitution. This involves kidnapping, drug dependency and intimidation – the complete destruction of the human spirit. In some cases, parents are pimping their own children. Death-dealing organized crime is active in this sphere. It can only succeed as it does because of the complicity of police and government officials. “Nefarious” is a graphic, stomach-turning Christian documentary about the realities of sexual slavery with a special focus on Moldova, Thailand and the Netherlands. It requires tremendous courage to fight for the lives of these victims of the most outrageous abuse. You’re fighting this battle at the doorway of hell, but you are fighting to rescue some of the most helpless victims of torture, sexual assault, kidnapping and slavery.
Banquet speech by Bojidar Marinov
“Have You Embraced the Victory of Christ’s Church?”: Our banquet speaker, Bojidar Marinov, will be talking about a victorious, triumphant Church, an expanding Kingdom of God and a ruling Saviour. He will be commenting on the current weakness of the North American Church, and the harassment and persecution we are facing. But Bojidar doesn’t end there. He challenges the Church to take responsibility for repentance and reformation instead of blaming non-Christians for acting the way non-Christians act. And just as importantly, Bojidar presents a Biblical vision for victory. He rejects the notion of a “post-Christian” age. Where pessimism can be an excuse for laziness and rebellion, Bojidar explains how faithfulness to God’s law, perseverance and a multi-generational perspective will bear fruit for the advancement of God’s Kingdom and the cultivation of Christian culture. God is stirring people up again with this vision of victory. This is a message for those who want to be inspired by a fresh vision for victorious missions, successful ministry and cultural reformation.
